Great new music to listen to: The Mynabirds

While perusing the Web, I came across an article about a group named The Mynabirds on AOL’s Spinner.com. The band is led by singer Laura Burhenn, who has been singing professionally since 1999. Her new band, The Mynabirds released their debut album, What We Lose in the Fire We Gain in the Flood, on April 27, 2010.

The overall sound and feel of The Mynabirds’ music is a delight to listen to. The chords and lyrics evoke the sound of the 1960s and bands like The Mamas and the Papas.  NPR’s Ken Tucker reviewed the band and showcased several songs from The Mynabirds’ new album on May 18, 2010.
