When leaders show their human side, it can make them more accessible and easier to understand. It helps us to recognize that they are real people–not that different from us.
The practice of opening up and being real requires a lot of confidence. It’s also a deliberate decision to not focus so much on being the elite or most best in the world. To me, it’s another level of grace and excellence that makes a leader even more credible and inspiring.
