When leaders show their human side, it can make them more accessible and easier to understand. It helps us to recognize that they are real people--not that different from us.
The practice of opening up and being real requires a lot of confidence. It’s also a deliberate decision to not focus so much on being the elite or most best in the world. To me, it’s another level of grace and excellence that makes a leader even more credible and inspiring.
