How to be a web design super hero

I have been spending much of my winter break completing tasks that have been collecting dust on my to-do list. One of these tasks was to merge, validate, and organize my archives of bookmarks.

I came across a fun bookmark from last March to Andy Budd’s blog. Andy posted notes from his SXSWi presentation titled ‘How to be a web design superhero‘. The post includes a PDF of Andy’s beautiful presentation, which included Alex Ross’s illustrations of popular superheros including Wonderwoman, Superman, and Batman.

In the presentation Andy suggests that the leaders in web design demonstrate characteristics and ideals similar to those associated with superheros.  These characteristics include an iconic association, ethics, morals, and a willingness to openly share knowledge.
