Michael lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan and works at Michigan State University in University Relations as the Senior Marketing Communications Manager for Web and New Media. He holds an M.A. in Educational Technology and a B.A. in Philosophy. Michael has worked in higher education for over ten years and specalizies in communication, technology, education, and marketing areas. In 2004, Michael launched VanPutten Interactive — a consulting business focused on utilization of web and new media, user experience, and web service/product development.
