Doctor Mix is one of my new favorite YouTube subscriptions

How I Got My First YouTube Viral

I absolutely love Claudio Passavanti who works and vlogs under the handle Doctor Mix. He is a talented musician and an exceptional producer. But, what makes him so amazingly great is his enthusiasm, energy, and positivity for the tools and world of professional music production.

Claudio was born in Rome in 1972 and has been playing keyboard since he was four years old. At 16, he was one of the first students to study jazz piano at Scuola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio (est. 1973). By the time Claudio was 18, he was working as an in-house producer at a local studio.

A few years later, he went on to study Orchestral Composing and Arranging at The Dick Grove School Of Music (est. 1973) in Los Angeles—an institution known for a few of its famous students including Michael Jackson, Linda Ronstadt, and Barry Manilow.

During the 90s, Claudio became known for his live performances at festivals and clubs around the world. His music comprised of latin, jazz fusion, and house music. In 2006, Claudio founded Sunlightsquare Records (London), one of the first online mixing, mastering and production services.

In addition to his professional work, Claudio connects with fans via his Doctor Mix YouTube channel, where he has more than a half-million subscribers. He regularly collaborates with some of the biggest manufacturers in professional audio including Yamaha, Roland, Steinberg, Prism Sound, Moog, and Arturia.
